UW Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship
Outpatient clinic experiences are primarily based within the Wisconsin Psychiatric Institute and Clinics (WisPIC), a large, multidisciplinary outpatient treatment facility. The outpatient clinic experience at WisPIC uniquely provides “live” CAP faculty supervision of all patients seen by fellows. CAP fellows also participate in nationally-recognized community-based psychiatric programs including trauma-based services for youth, substance abuse treatment, school-based assessment and intervention, among others. Additional experiences include consult-liaison services within the American Family Children’s Hospital and on-site school consultations coordinated with the Madison Metropolitan School District.
Inpatient training occurs in a newly constructed, state-of-the-art, child and adolescent psychiatric hospital that includes separate programming for children and adolescents.
Inpatient and outpatient rotations provide multiple opportunities for CAP fellows to become involved in teaching and mentoring junior residents, medical students, and psychology interns.
