Katelyn (Kate) Waligoske, MD

Medical School: University of South Dakota, Sanford School of Medicine


Kate (she/her) completed medical school at the University of South Dakota and has her BA in psychology from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, PA. Her previous work includes research on sexual assault prevention on college campuses, medical legislative advocacy for reproductive rights, and publications on adolescent substance use and treatment.  She was on the board of directors for USD’s student run-free clinic and co-created their first psychiatry specialty care team to provide greater access to services. Her professional interests include psychotherapy (with special interest in equine-assisted therapies), inclusive care for LGBTQIA+ individuals, and substance use care. She currently serves on the resident planning committee for physician education in collaborative care with psychiatry and pediatrics.
