Dolly was raised in Nigeria and graduated  from the Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, IL. In her personal statement, she shared a story about an interaction with a patient, ending with “It is this potential for trust and openness that will get me up in the morning to practice the best psychiatry that I can.” While in medical school Dolly and a classmate planned the first Student Wellness and Meditation Room on campus, including designing and decorating the space and presenting their proposals. She has participated as a Health Education and Leadership Scholar creating resources for students and teachers and served on medical mission to Costa Rica. Dolly is also an actress! She’s been in “The Vagina Monologues” and is using improv to reintegrate marginalized populations in Springfield.
