Dr. Mat graduated from medical school in July 2020. Her fascination with sleep, dreams, and consciousness led her to move to Madison upon graduation, where she spent five years working at the Center for Sleep and Consciousness. During her research years, she gained experience with a range of neuroimaging methods and noninvasive neuromodulation techniques, including TMS-EEG, intracranial EEG, single- and multi-unit recordings, and transcranial electrical stimulation via temporal interference, within the fields of sleep and consciousness at the UW–Madison Departments of Neurology and Psychiatry. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs, appreciating nature, spending time with family and friends, learning different art techniques (currently watercoloring), and playing board games.
