Jess Lathrop, PhD

Jess (she/her) is a Child Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She earned her Doctorate in School Psychology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA where she also earned a Master’s degree in Human Development. Jess completed her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Upstate New York. Her clinical training emphasized evidence-based, trauma-informed care in school and outpatient settings. Jess is passionate about increasing access to mental health care for underserved children and their families. She has worked with children and adolescents with a range of concerns, including ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma-related disorders. During her postdoctoral fellowship, Jess is excited to continue specializing in family therapy, as she takes a relational, emotion-focused, and systems-based approach. She also provides preschool and school consultation, building upon her previous experience as an elementary school teacher. For fun, Jess enjoys playing pickleball, watching football, and paddleboarding.
