Obhijit (Obhi) Hazarika, MD

Position title: PGY2

Medical School: Wesleyan University

Obhi graduated from Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT) in 2005 with degrees in Biology and Philosophy.  In the decade before enrolling at The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont, he conducted clinical trials in both stroke epidemiology and pediatric anesthesia, designed math and science curricula for bright high schoolers contending with myriad learning differences, founded an NGO, coordinated medical device development, and captained a semi-professional rugby team.  Throughout, Obhi cultivated a commitment to the individual dignity and agency accessible through practical concept- and process-based mastery, often in situations balancing divergent stakeholder interests.  When not in-clinic or teaching, he cooks, reads, drums, takes motorcycle tours, lifts heavy-ish things, and supports live music as the conditions allow.
