Mika Galiher, M.D.

Medical School: Meharry Medical College

Mika Galiher earned her M.D. from Meharry Medical College in May of 2023. She grew up on Moloka’i which is a rural outer island and houses Hawaii’s last leper colony. Mika says this influenced her view on patient care because she “learned to see patients’ struggles and disability, instead as strength to persevere”. Mika’s research experience includes working with Meharry Medical College Family Medicine Department on researching opioid overdose prevention. She has made Naloxone education and awareness a very important part of her career. She has also volunteered as a mentor for Revive Detox Los Angeles and a member of her medical school’s Covid-19 Task Force. In her free time, Mika takes pie baking very seriously and loves to spend time with her dog, Hamlet.
