Stephen Chen, MD

Medical School: University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health

Stephen completed his undergraduate degrees in biomedical engineering and computer science at Johns Hopkins University and earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Stephen conducted research in the Department of Surgery and presented his work at three conferences and published a paper in the Journal of Surgical Research. He was active with the Medical Student Association as webmaster and notetaker. In addition, he served on the Resident Quality and Safety Council, participated in Wisconsin Alumni Association events, and helped encouraged voter participation.  Before medical school Stephen worked for Epic. In his personal statement Stephen wrote about his engineering background and how it inspired his path to medicine. Stephen speaks Chinese. He enjoys ultimate frisbee and even organized a summer league with his class. He plays guitar, works out, and runs.
