Gabriel Camara, M.D.

Gabriel earned his medical degree from the Universidade Federal da Bahia (UFBA) School of Medicine, Brazil. Gabriel has since had significant work and volunteer experience in Brazil. He completed a residency in psychiatry at Hospital Professor Edgard Santos – UFBA and received a Master’s Degree in psychoanalysis from the Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). His career as a psychiatrist in Brazil was remarkable for being a pioneer in the field of C-L psychiatry, as he broke new ground in his region by founding the psychiatric service of a traditional general hospital in his country. He completed a C-L Psychiatry Fellowship at Hennepin Healthcare in 2022. He had such a positive experience in this fellowship position he “decided to take a step forward and apply for a residency in Psychiatry in the U.S.”. Outside of work, you can find Gabriel spending time with his family, listening to music, playing the guitar, enjoying nature, and reading.
