Oghenetega earned her medical degree in 2012 from Obafemi Awolowo University College of Health Sciences, Nigeria. Since then she has worked very hard to be able to train as a psychiatry resident in the United States and has a significant and meaningful work history. In this process she completed an M.Sc. in the UK and an MPH in the US. She worked extensively in public health while living in Texas. Some of her other experiences in psychiatry include Graceland Psychiatric & Neuromodulation Center, Lone Star Behavioral Health, and many more locations spanning the United States. Outside of her work experiences, she has also volunteered with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). She brings an important perspective and “seeks the goodness in life even in the face of challenges”. Oghenetega’s hobbies include hair crocheting, making ‘suya’ (steak kabobs), and watching fantasy movies.
