About the Speaker:

Dr. Nathan Russell Harper is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine at East Carolina University, Brody School of Medicine.

Dr. Harper is a combined trained physician in the fields of Internal Medicine & Psychiatry.  He is triple board certified in Internal Medicine, Psychiatry, and Psychosomatics.  He completed medical school at West Virginia University and residency at ECU Brody school of medicine.  He went on to complete a fellowship in Psychosomatic Medicine at University of Washington in Seattle.  He currently serves as the Medical Director of the Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Vidant Medical Center.  He is involved with resident training and supervises residents on the Consult Liaison Service and in the Internal Medicine Resident Clinic.


About the Series:

The Educational Conference series is a series of lectures designed to provide clinically useful information to the practicing psychiatrist (faculty or trainee).  Every 1 to 2 months an intra- or extra-departmental speaker is invited to speak on a topic of interest selected by current faculty.  This educational series is open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.  Continue Medical Education units (CME’s) are available to eligible attendees.
