About the Speaker:

Dr. Elizabeth Wassenaar is the Regional Medical Director of the Mountain Region for Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood and Anxiety Center and lives and works in Denver, Colorado.

Dr. Wassenaar is Board Certified in Psychiatry and Neurology, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Obesity Medicine and is a certified eating disorder specialist (CEDS). She has a master’s degree in Pharmacology from the University of Pennsylvania and currently chairs ERC/Pathlight’s Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee.  She completed a Triple Board Residency at the University of Cincinnati and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and has also completed advanced training in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy Program at the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute, Family Based Therapy (FBT) Training at University of California San Diego Eating Disorders Treatment and Research Center and Motivational Interviewing for Obesity in the Primary Care Setting with the DuPont/Nemours Children’s Hospital System.

She is a member of The American Psychiatric Association, The American Association of Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, The International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals, and The Obesity Society.  Dr. Wassenaar has published and presented on a variety of topics related to eating disorders, mood and anxiety disorders, and mental health and wellness.

 


About the Series:

The Educational Conference series is a series of lectures designed to provide clinically useful information to the practicing psychiatrist (faculty or trainee).  Every 1 to 2 months an intra- or extra-departmental speaker is invited to speak on a topic of interest selected by current faculty.  This educational series is open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend.  Continue Medical Education units (CME’s) are available to eligible attendees.
