Dr. Aaron Owen is from Madison, WI and attended Marquette University for his undergraduate studies, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biomedical Sciences. He then returned to Madison to attend medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Although strongly rooted in Wisconsin, he has developed an interest in health and leadership that spans the globe. From his research in El Salvador as a Fulbright Scholar to his work to develop an afterschool leadership curriculum in rural Uganda, he has been very generous of his time and talents in the service of others. Aaron has been the recipient of many awards including a UW SMPH Merit scholarship, a Sharpiro Research grant, Fulbright Research grant, among others. He enjoys spending time with his partner and exploring Madison with a fresh perspective thanks to all of his co-residents from out-of-state. His hobbies include Jiu Jitsu, cycling, backpacking and reading. Aaron speaks Spanish.
