Tanner Bommersbach, MD, MPH is a child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He specializes in the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders among children and adolescents and is interested in improving systems of care for families with complex mental health needs.
Dr. Bommersbach is a mental health services researcher with a focus on suicide prevention and health delivery models to improve access to care. His research has characterized national trends and unmet need for behavioral health care among children and has been published in leading medical journals, including JAMA, JAMA Psychiatry, the American Journal of Psychiatry, and the American Journal of Public Health.
Dr. Bommersbach received his medical degree from Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine, an MPH in health policy from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and residency training and a public psychiatry fellowship at Yale University. He completed additional fellowship training in child and adolescent psychiatry at Mayo Clinic. From 2023-2024, Dr. Bommersbach was a policy fellow in the Center for Mental Health Services at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and was awarded the Laughlin Fellowship by the American College of Psychiatrists.
