About the Speaker:
Gene Yang, MD, MBA, is an attending physician at Rogers Behavioral Health for the partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient levels of care who is board certified for both child and adolescent psychiatry and general psychiatry. Dr. Yang completed his undergraduate degree in sociology and urban studies at the University of Pennsylvania, after which he spent several years in the defense industry. He transitioned to medicine, earning his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry and an MBA from the Simon Business School – University of Rochester. He completed his psychiatric residency and child and adolescent fellowship, serving as Chief Fellow, at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health.
Dr. Yang continues to teach trainees at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine & Public Health and regularly lectures on the relationship between mental health and current topics of interest such as video games, firearms, and telehealth.
Dr. Yang is a member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), American Psychiatric Association (APA), and other national/state medical associations.
About the Series:
The Educational Conference series is a series of lectures designed to provide clinically useful information to the practicing psychiatrist (faculty or trainee). Every 1 to 2 months an intra- or extra-departmental speaker is invited to speak on a topic of interest selected by current faculty. This educational series is open to the public and anyone is welcome to attend. Continue Medical Education units (CME’s) are available to eligible attendees.
