Dr. Sedighi received her medical degree from Azad University, Tehran Faculty of Medicine. After graduating, she worked as a primary care doctor in the southern rural regions of Iran, where she often saw how mental health was overlooked. It was during that time she realized how strongly drawn she was to psychiatry.

Saman later moved to the U.S. and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the University of Southern California in a cancer neuroscience lab. While there, she also helped with the USC Mindfulness Center and volunteered in the Psychiatric Emergency Room at LAC+USC Medical Center, where she continued learning how to care for people in moments of deep crisis.

Outside of work, she enjoys practicing meditation and Iyengar yoga, and spending time with friends.
