Dr. Dan Jurczyk is a graduate of UW-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health, where he was a member of the Wisconsin Academy for Rural Physicians based in Marshfield, WI. He also earned his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology at UW-Madison. Prior to medical school, Dan worked as a fermentation biologist producing natural food preservatives from bacteria. His professional interests include rural psychiatry, community psychiatry, and public health. In his free time, Dan enjoys riding his bike, flying planes a private pilot, spending time with his wife, reading, traveling, and board games. While it’s difficult to pick favorites, Dan’s current favorite author is Brandon Sanderson and his favorite board game is Carcassonne. Originally from Watertown, Dan has a commitment to practice in the state of Wisconsin. He hopes to continue this commitment through residency and beyond by learning the skills he needs to practice psychiatry in underserved, rural areas of the state.
