She is passionate about integrative medicine: she participated in AMSA’s Leadership and Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine and produced a documentary, The Healer Within: Eastern and Western Perspectives on the Mind’s Causal Role in Health and Disease. This led her to Shanghai, China and Mumbai, India to learn from practitioners of ancient eastern medical traditions. Misty also has a strong research background, having been a predoctoral research fellow at the University of Arizona, a research assistant at Columbia’s Obesity Research Center, and a research coordinator at InSite Clinical Research.  A background in neuroscience, experience in research, focus on integration – UW-Madison is a great educational home for Misty.
