Medical School: Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipac University


Dr. Misty Embrey is from Dallas, TX. She received her bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavior from Columbia University and her medical degree from Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine at Quinnipiac University (Connecticut). In medical school, she founded and led the school’s first interest group geared toward students interested in complementary and integrative medicine.  She is passionate about integrative medicine: she participated in AMSA’s Leadership and Education Program for Student’s in Integrative Medicine and produced a documentary, The Healer Within: Eastern and Western Perspectives on the Mind’s Causal Role in Health and Disease. This led her to Shanghai, China and Mumbai, India to learn from practitioners of ancient eastern medical traditions.  She also has a strong research background, having been a predoctoral research fellow at the University of Arizona, a research assistant at Columbia’s Obesity Research Center, and a research coordinator at InSite Clinical Research.  Misty received the Scholarship in Humanism Award, Quinnipiac University Leadership and Education Program for Students in Integrative Medicine (LEAPS) Grant, AMSA First Generation College Graduate Scholarship, among others. She enjoys weekend brunches at Sardine, stand up paddleboarding on Lake Monona, Lake Mendota sunsets at the Terrace, breaking a sweat at Solid Core, Saturday’s on the Square Farmer’s Market, and sampling as many of Madison’s fried cheese curds as possible.
