By design, the University of Wisconsin Department of Psychiatry has developed an environment where people who do very different things work next to each other and with each other at the clinical level, at the training level, and at the research level. It's our belief that putting folks together who all have the same goal in mind -- to reduce suffering from mental illness -- but who approach the goal from very different perspectives, from talk therapy to cell biology, will lead to bold new discoveries related to the causes and potential treatments for some significant health problems.
