Pratik Prajapati

Pratik Prajapati serves as the Director of Business Services for the Department of Psychiatry. In his role, Pratik provides leadership for the administrative team and is responsible for the administration of the Department’s clinical, research, teaching and service programs.  With the Department Chair, Pratik develops, implements, and evaluates the Department of Psychiatry’s strategic goals.  He works closely with SMPH and UW Health to ensure the department’s faculty, staff, and trainees have the resources and support needed to function at a high-level.

Formerly, Pratik served as the Project Manager for Organizational Strategy and Planning at UW Health. In this role, Pratik led the development of a revised UW Health Funds Flow Model which will create a standardized budgeting and financial management process across all UW SMPH Departments. Prior to this role, he also served as the Director of Surgery Services for the UW Department of Surgery. In this role, Pratik led faculty recruitment efforts, clinical business development, regional outreach services, and marketing/public affairs for the Department of Surgery. Pratik also held management and staff roles within the UW Health Quality, Safety, and Innovation Department where he worked to improve quality, redesign processes, and help develop healthcare professionals in quality improvement methodologies. Before joining UW Health, Pratik worked as a performance improvement consultant with Huron Healthcare based in Chicago, IL traveling across the country completing inpatient capacity management and revenue cycle redesign projects. Pratik earned his Master of Health Administration from Saint Louis University and his Bachelor of Science in Public Health from Indiana University – Bloomington.
